Impact of Osteoporotic Fractures on Quality of Life - Design of A Mapping Study of Qualiost To Eq-5d.

OBJECTIVES: The QUALIOST (quality in life questionnaire in osteoporosis) is one of the most commonly used osteoporosis-specific health-related quality of life (HRQoL) questionnaires and it is often used in clinical studies to document the longitudinal impact of osteoporosis and related fractures. It is unknown whether the QUALIOST is better at estimating HRQoL for osteoporotic fracture patients compared to the commonly used EQ-5D questionnaire. Preference scores have not yet been developed for the QUALIOST and, thus, cost-utility analyses are difficult to perform. The purpose of the present paper is to describe the first steps of a planned/ future study on mapping from the QUALIOST to the EQ-5D questionnaire.
